I've heard the name of the artist before but didn't have any connections. My first impressions were like a cleaner and less interesting version of Pearl Jam but that might be because of the mid 90s relation. I've probably heard his cover of Hallelujah before but the album as a whole doesn't really appeal to me although I appreciate the smooth musical talent overall.
Happy to have been exposed to this album.
Previously semi-aware of the hits and the beards of the band, this album has turned me into a fan of ZZ Top full stop. The guitars rip and the beat drives. Roadster funk vibes. I'll be adding some ZZ to every American road trip playlist from here on out.
Genius in it's simplicity as it was when it was one of my favorite albums during my teenage years. The guitars scream and Karen O wails! As raw and sweet as strawberries in a mason jar.
Didn't do anything special for me. Didn't make it through the first disc.
Not for me. Tried a couple songs but it fell flat so I didn't finish it
Charismatic album from a band I've definitely overlooked previously. I like the range and am impressed that it was released in 1972. Instrument forward with interesting but smooth vocals. Great vibes!
Is this the original album art that London Calling was parodying or does it go further back? I know some of the songs from the album but have never invested in an entire Elvis production that wasn't a greatest hits. Some bops on this one. I get the cultural impact but am not blown away. I have no idea how to give credit to Elvis for performing songs as I don't believe he wrote a lot of them and it loses some authenticity for me.

Recognized most of the songs from compilations but had never listened to this album. It personifies some of my favorite things and least favorite things about Bob Dylan. No new songs made an impression on me but I enjoyed the album overall.
The hits still hit. Impressive album with compelling highs and inconsequential lows. They captured lightning in a bottle a couple of times on this debut album.
Pivotal album for me personally and probably in the story of music. I recall listening to this on the bus in elementary school, splitting a pair of broken headphones with a buddy and being introduced to hip hop that released before I was alive. Some absolute bangers that stand the test of time. I always loved Peter Piper because of how the emcees use it as an opportunity to brag about their friend. RUN and DMC open up the album by boosting the guy without a microphone and it's always been influential to me. It's approachable hip hop that serves a lot of purpose through a lot of talent.
I prefer early Kings of Leon before you can really understand what they're saying. There's some raw appeal to this album.
