Predictability detracts from the album. Crooning over a slow blues-y groove provides some redemption, particularly on Luna and Breakdown. The energy of Rockin' Around is fun. The vocals in Anything That's Rock and Roll offer an interesting staccato feel. But overall, aside from the well-loved track American Girl, the album is forgettable. Tom's face, on the other hand, is not. He's a little too handsome for his own good, even (especially?) with that smirk.
