Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Sep 27 2024

I appreciate that it's a good album - it's well mixed, excellent production, and the music is good, etc. But it just didn't resonate with me.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Sep 30 2024

Some great tracks, definitely helped change the landscape for rap artists, but some of it just didn't resonate with me and I didn't love the breaks between songs.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Oct 01 2024

Very cohesive sound through the album - Stand outs are Mr. Blue Sky (duh) and Turn to Stone (great opener). Definitely of the time but also a classic.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Oct 02 2024

Really well produced, Sarah Vaughan has a lovely voice and the way she handled a few mistakes by making jokes (in tune with the song!) made me laugh! I've never heard this artist and really enjoyed it overall - a very good rainy evening album to put on.

Da Capo by Love
Oct 03 2024

An absolutely bonkers album with 50 different music styles and lyrics ranging from silly to philosophical. Of course, the stand-out is 7 and 7 is with its fast-driving guitar and drum. Especially after the whimsical music and melancholy lyrics of Que Vida. However, I don't think they stuck the landing - an 19-minute song that's nearly half the album is just exhausting.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Oct 04 2024

It just didn't connect with me. I understand that what they were doing was a blend of absurdism and experimental, and I appreciate it, but it's not an album I want to listen to

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Oct 07 2024

This was just kind of boring to me. A blend of The Eagles softer rock and Bob Dylan's folk. It wasn't bad at all - it was good to have on as background, but none of it felt memorable or stood out.

Oct 08 2024

This was a really good end-to-end album that blended a lot of tradition with some really interesting beats and elements. A lot of fun to listen to.

Oct 09 2024

It's not bad, but I didn't enjoy it. It was boring and a bit milquetoast - not sure what makes this an album I have to listen to before I die.

Ingenue by k.d. lang
Oct 10 2024

Really enjoyed this. Her voice is lovely and the music was great. All in all, a really strong album

Violator by Depeche Mode
Oct 11 2024

Really enjoyed this - it was great for the time but it still holds up.

Bossanova by Pixies
Oct 14 2024

A good overall album - Allison was a standout for me, but not their strongest .

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Oct 17 2024

It was fun hearing the classics and I definitely get the appeal, especially for the time. It's fairly innocuous background music for me, though
