Nice
I liked it. I saw on Wikipedia Mick Jones produced it and you can definitely hear it on some songs like Tomblands
Primitive Radio Gods sample
Cool album, the primal scream stuff is sweet and you can hear a lot of influence this record had on bands like Dr. Dog
I've listened to Becks earlier stuff (Odelay, One Foot In The Grave, Mellow Gold) and read a bit about him and Calvin Johnson recording One Foot In The Grave. But I've never gotten super into him. This album is a pretty big departure from what Beck's known for, pretty cool and not what I was expecting. I read it's a breakup album for him, so that makes sense. Sunday Sun is my favorite track on first listen.
I have no idea why this is in here. It's a good album, but I don't think they were doing anything remarkable on here. I read about them and I guess they got cancelled and broke up when they were peaking in 2018. This album isn't post-punk but this was when everyone was putting shapes like this on their album covers and calling it post-punk.
awesome album. I'm not sure if I've ever listened to this straight through, if I did it was a long time ago.
banger
I'd never heard of this artist before, but really loved this album. Super good and had no idea what I was expecting. Looks like Kanye and J Dilla have sampled her songs before, gotta check those out.
I've always loved The Head on The Door because it's just hit after hit, but this album is much different. It's got so much cool ambience/orchestral style pieces. Much more of like a need to listen all the way through type of album.
great album. It reminds me of Stereolab in some ways. The samples are awesome and the beats are too
Solid album. I guess this is what people raved to in the 80s. I heard some Oasis in this. There's another album from this genre by the band Flowered Up that I really liked. Otherwise I really don't know much about this whole scene.
