1001 Albums Summary

Didn’t realise I knew any of this bands music till I heard them! Cool vibe of an album, reminds of me the Riviera (even though I’ve never been there!). Bond film vibes at times too, don’t know why!

This is like a Woodstock festival album, she probably sang it there! 70s hippy was an album, it would be this. I wasn’t sure if I’d know any songs and then the Natalie Portman perfume advert song came on! She has a unique voice does Janis.

Hadn’t heard any of the songs before, but enjoyed it overall. Like ragtime meets blues.

Never heard of The Band. Great original name! A little bit Funky. A little bit Cool.

Very Simon and Garfunkel, distinctly them. Knew a couple songs on the album, didn’t realise they were on this album. Liked the violin instrumentals of ‘The Dangling Conversation.’

Don’t think I had heard of these guys before. Album seemed like a typical 70s rock vibe. Like the song ‘Never Before’. And the very next song had a guitar riff that reminded me of a friend at uni that played it all the time, but never actually knew the song! Now I do ‘Smoke on the water’

Another Simon and Garfunkel album in the space of a few days! Not complaining, very partial to them! Aside from the obvious 3 well known songs from this album, I discovered El Condor Pasa (If I Could), The Only Living Boy in New York and Song for the Asking.

A cohesive album, sounds like it was written in a particular mood with a particular vibe and it flows well together.
