Led me to a podcast about Simon and Garfunkel. Great stuff. From "Patterns" to "Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall."
1977! Rock! Lyrics which don't make much sense. Who cares! We're here to rock. Honestly, when I see a track north of ten minutes, I start thinking "oh... oh no" but Marquee Moon (yes, the title track is that long) is actually pretty good and definitely rock.
Sometimes I notice the number of plays on albums. It may prejudice my judgment. "The Weight" on YouTube music has over 115 million plays. The next most-listened track has less than 2 million. Is the Weight THAT much better than the others? No, we all know popularity doesn't correlate to quality so neatly. ... But "The Weight" is definitely the best song on this album.
Sultans of Swing.... Pretty preeeeettt good
Drums were cool. I heard they influenced Nirvana. But idk man as "interesting" as the decisions were I didn't enjoy the vocals, lyrics, or the jarring turns.
My fraternity brothers would just blast some Marvin Gay songs on a giant speaker outside another brother's room if they had a woman visiting to annoy them. Anyway, I'm surprised at how religious many of Gay's songs are. Maybe because my association is seeing others use his romantic songs in unholy annoying ways. Good album. Great voice.
Quick album! Never dragged thoufh
