My favorite so far by a mile. So many infectious songs, so entrancing
I thought the Leftfield album would be my favorite album I’ve been given for a while, and it just so happens that my very next album is arguably the greatest album in the history of hip hop. Crazy how life works
Yeah look, I’ve never been one to separate the art from the artist really, and I can make exceptions but there’s just too much that’s iffy about Jerry Lee Lewis for me to be able to enjoy this. Aesthetically, it’s right up my alley, the eclectic old school bluesy rock with insanely wild vocal and instrumental performances. That’s all to say, I really should like this album, but I just can’t. For one, JLL’s crumbling marriage with his literal first cousin who was 13 when they got married inspired a lot of the material on this album, and when you have that context it just makes these songs hard to listen to. Furthermore, any white guy from the 60s going this hard into blues rock just rubs me the wrong way as well. Look, Jerry Lee was insanely talented, and his performances were electric, and for this reason I don’t really blame people who do enjoy his music, but I personally can’t.
Hard for me not to get behind some old school psych rock. Really solid all the way through, I enjoyed this quite a bit
I don’t like how I’ve gotten 2 of my top 10 albums ever this early into this thing ngl
Not my thing at all sorry
