1001 Albums Summary

This was an inauspicious start to this project. There were maybe 2 listenable songs, and that's mostly 90's nostalgia talking. The dumb robot voice at the beginning got my hopes up that this wouldn't take itself too seriously, but no such luck.

This seems like a great album, that just didn't really click with me. It feels very earnest throughout, and veers between personal and political. Maybe it's the lack of cynicism, the religiosity, or just how politics have changed in the half-century since this album was made that felt like it was keeping me at arm's length.

Short and mostly sweet. There's a lot they both wanna and don't wanna do.

Fantastic, though just a little uneven. Darlene Love and Ronettes are amazing, Bob B. Soxx maybe a little less. Also, hard to argue with short and sweet.
