Songs From The Big Chair
Tears For Fears
Can only describe as 80s pop in a bottle. Never been a huge fan of Shout but Everybody Wants to Rule the World is one of my favourites. Really enjoyed Head Over Heels / Broken and The Working Hour too. The rest didn't stand out too much to me personally, however it's a solid album nonetheless.

Music for the Masses
Depeche Mode
The last time I listened to a Depeche Mode album I really enjoyed this, however Music for the Masses felt underwhelming. I liked Pimpf mostly because it gave me something to chew on. The mixes were pretty fun too but the core of this album just wasn't for me.

Crime Of The Century
Supertramp
Epitome of one of those Chilled 70s Dinner Party playlists. Crime of the Century has some interesting moments but on the whole is pretty inoffensive. Its not a bad album per say... however it's not exactly a good one either.

Electric Warrior
T. Rex
Listened to this on a Sunday night which feels like the perfect timing. An album which doesn't do too much but is a pleasant listening experience nonetheless. Sometimes an album like this can have bad tracks but I didn't find that with Electric Warrior; in fact, I actually enjoyed Get It On more when played within the context of this album.

Pearl
Janis Joplin
Hard not to admire both the power and personality of Joplin's vocals. At first I thought I was enjoying Pearl purely due to the instrumentals however, Mercedes Benz was so playful and I couldn't help but smile. It carried me into the next few songs with a different appreciation. I played the album over and it grew on me. Not an album I think I'll come back to a lot but I did enjoy it.

Franz Ferdinand
Franz Ferdinand
Really struggled with this one. The songs are very ok but I couldn't help think that I'd rather be listening to anything else. This Fire and Take Me Out were my favourites.

Surf's Up
The Beach Boys
The Beach Boys feel a little like a victim of their own success here. Surf's Up is fun because it (mostly) retains the recognised sound of The Beach Boys with a darker twist, yet the combination of the two makes it difficult to take this new moodier landscape in. The Beach Boys are telling me Don't Go Near The Water!? That doesn't seem like them at all, except it does because it sounds exactly the same as when they sang about being in the water.
After getting a few songs in and taking them a little more seriously, I get hit with Student Demonstration Time and the tonal juxtaposition seems silly again. That being said, the latter half of the album seems to communicate the image of Surf's Up better.
I do enjoy this album, but I think it deserves a few more listens for me to truly like it. Currently it sits in a strange zone where it's better than just being okay but not quite something I love.

Tusk
Fleetwood Mac
Feels like a hazy morning with coffee. Vocals are lush which makes Tusk a pretty pleasant listen. A great album but not great as singles.
