Songs flow so well into each other, album is definitely best listened in order. First 3 songs are classic reggae. Synth guitar on "The Heathen" is wild but good, then flows directly into the funk of "Exodus". "Jamming" needs no discussion it's famous for a reason, but "Exodus" into "Jamming" into "Waiting in Vain" is a fantastic 3 song suite. Then "Turn Your Lights Down Low" into "Three Little Birds" and "One Love/People Get Ready". Honestly the last 6 songs of this album are legendary. This is bad for the start of my "I'm gonna be harsh rating albums" journey but I can't give this anything less than a 5/5.

Liked “Down to Zero” and the breakdown of “Help Yourself” just around the halfway point. Liked "Join the Boys" enough to add it to my liked songs. Music isn't what I normally go towards but I enjoyed it all the same. The bass grooves are very nice throughout and her guitar playing on "Like Fire" and other songs is beautiful. I see myself listening to select songs off this album going forward.

The mono mix on taxman was hurt by headphones, would've been better on speaker. Eleanor Rigby is one of my favorite Beatles tunes ever. This album in general speaks to the kinds of Beatles tunes I prefer: softer, melodic, sweeter. "Yellow Submarine" is such a classic song, I feel like I rarely listen to it but it just hits so nice every once in a while. "For No One" is another song that for years has been at the top or near the top of my favorite Beatles songs. Overall I feel this album has some of the highest highs for me and I would listen to the whole album cover to cover every once in a while but not on a consistent basis.

I was sick as a dog the day this album was given to me, so it's possible that it never got a chance to truly shine the way it maybe could have. That being said, after listening to it I still feel like there are other Foo albums I like more and that this is more of a "pick and choose songs" album instead of a "front to back listening" album. I still enjoyed it but the songs began to feel a bit same-y and didn't give me all I was hoping for.
