Abbey Road
BeatlesIt's the Beatles so like it's not gonna be that bad. Overall I like Revolver better considering this one feels a bit disjointed. The last run with all the songs transitioning into one is pretty cool.

Wasn't too big of a Cure fan before this album, and while I'm still not, I can appreciate this as a good record. Overall, Pornography is alright... wait a minute! Fave Songs - One Hundred Years, The Figurehead, Cold
The first stretch of this album is really good. Like those first 3 songs back to back to back hit quite well. Where this album suffers is the long road of mid that follows this. My only real highlight from this part was the Sax parts at the end of a Fireplace. The closer is a bit of an uptick, but this album as a whole lacks some of the hooks heard in other REM songs. Fave Songs - Finest Worksong, Welcome To The Occupation, Oddfellows Local 151
The best way to describe this is as a Showcase of Utter Vocal Talent. I found myself enjoying the more uptempo groovy songs, but the storytelling on tracks like Four Women was impeccable. Overall, solid stuff. Fave Songs - I Love Your Lovin' Ways, Four Women, Break Down And Let It All Out,
When you rock albums starts a whole movement that defines the beginning of an entire decade, I think you earn yourself a spot on the top albums of all time. Defining act of the 90s and a true showcase of how even simplistic, riffs and solos can go so hard. Mind Blowing listen. Fave Songs - Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, Endless Nameless
Metal is one of those genres I always think I'm not gonna like, but then I actually listen and I find out I don't mind it. It happened with the King Gizz metal albums, and it happened with this one. There were some really good songs on this album, the stretch of .execute. to Phsycosocial was the best (barring maybe Sulfur which was kind a let down). My big gripes with this and the metal genre in general are probably the insistence on tons of Guitar Distortion and the Screaming Vocals which can get a bit annoying after a while. Fave Songs - Gamatria (The Killing Name), Phsycosocial, Vendetta
Brian gets points for Heros being my favorite David Bowie song, Viva La Vida being a certified Jam, and Once In A Lifetime because it's Once In A Lifetime. He also gets points for this being a very good album. Parts of this album straight up feel like Talking Heads B-Sides, even if this album came before Remain In Light, so I can see why him and David Byrne went on to do a lot more stuff together. Even if not every idea presented on this album is top notch, it's still a stellar showcase of Brian's ability, not just as a producer, but as a composer/artist. Would have appreciated more up tempo bangers like "King's Lead Hat", but the somber back half still has its shining moments, particularly in "By The River" and the instrumental "Through Hollow Lands". Fave Songs - No One Receiving, King's Lead Hat, By The River,
This might be the most nothing album I've heard so far. Like there are some cool moments, particularly Hard To Handle and the bit where the tempo speeds up at the end of Stare It Cold, but ultimately it just sorta faded into the background for me. There are enough albums in this style and these guys don't really do enough different for me to want to come back. Fave Songs - Hard To Handle, Stare It Cold
As a genre, I've never been that into Reggae music, and this album hasn't really changed my mind on that. I can appreciate the Album for its songwriting and as a good demonstration of the genre, but it's just not for me. Fave Songs - No Sympathy, Igziabeher (Let Jah Be Praised)
I liked this album quite a bit actually, even if I think a few of the songs ran a bit overtime. There were some truly amazing riffs that I feel echo even in more recent rock music that uses similar distortion. Once again, my biggest complaint is the length of some of the songs overstaying their welcome, but overall a good album.
Nah cause this album FUCKS! The instrumentals were so consistently good, and paired with the vocals and rapping they really scratched an inch in my brain. I can see why this album is called the Blueprint for Trip Hop, because everything about this felt so confident in its style. Fave Songs - Overcome, Black Steel, Hell Is Around The Corner, Brand New You're Retro, Strugglin'
There's a reason why Adele is the face of Ballad Pop, and it's because she's bloody good at making it. Not only is she a fantastic singer, but most of the backing instrumentals are simple enough to compliment her abilities but also interesting enough to keep me listening. Even songs I had previously not enjoyed when hearing them on the Radio in 2015 I found myself enjoying on a dedicated listen (particularly Hello and When We Were Young). There are def a few songs that don't get this treatment, particularly the stretch of Love In The Dark, Million Years Ago, and All I Ask I found a little weak, but overall: good job Adele, keep on Adele-ing! Fave Songs - Send My Love (To Your New Lover), I Miss You, Water Under The Bridge, River Lea, Sweetest Devotion
You know when you're listening to an album and then suddenly one songs comes on and you go "Ooooooh! There's the band who made that song!"? Well what's what I said out loud when There She Goes came on. Ultimately, its a pretty good rock project, parts of it reminded me of the Black Keys, but also not really something I'll return to a whole lot. Fave Songs - Son Of A Gun, There She Goes, Feelin', Way Out
It's alright, not much else to say. Like I'm sitting here trying to think of other things to write in this review and I can't think of any other then it was alright. Guess I'll just keep Rockin' In The Free World! DOOT DO DA LOOT DO! DOOT DOOT! Fave Songs - Walk On, See The Sky About To Rain, Motion Picture (For Carrie)
The 50s were wild man. Elvis is cool, even if sometimes he speaks weird, and also if you ignore all the weird creepy shit he did and sung about. Fave Songs - Blue Suede Shoes, One Sided Love Affair
Honestly just boring in my opion. Maybe I'll like Grace land when that comes up but this did nothing for me. Fave Songs - Think To Much (b), Train In The Distance
This album is interesting in a good way. Like the whole thing feels like a concept album with a plot line, or even a soundtrack for a Movie or Game at points. There are some beautiful songs that really captured my attention, so overall it's good. The cover made me think this was gonna be very diffrent lol. Fave Songs - Quattro, Black Heart, Not Even Stevie Nicks
Concept of the album is cool, it really does feel like a story with a through line which is cool. I also find it funny that with all these tracks about Tommy's struggles, the most popular one is about him being good at Pinball. Biggest gripe is that this album is SO. GOD. DAMN. LOOOOOONG! Like I swear this should have been under an hour! Anyways, Tommy's Holiday Camp is the best song ever made, end of review.
