Biased since I have memories attached to this album. Time is one of the best songs ever written.
A couple great songs here. Production is wild, some of it feels ahead of its time, experimental. Very horny, religious undertones.
conceptually a very cool album, murder ballads are what you get. moody, dark, interesting storytelling. prior to listening to the entire album, the only song i had heard was where the wild roses grow, and i thought it was great. goddamn was i not expecting stagger lee, wild song. this isn't really an album where i'd save a song or listen repeatedly, but it does feel like a fun, morbid experience. nick cave is definitely an acquired taste.
i remember being a kid and feeling like coldplay was inescapable, much like death or taxes. chris martin's fucking voice was so irritating. yellow, clocks, in my place, you couldn't walk through a fucking grocery store without hearing one of them. i liked shiver the most, however, it's basically just their best impression of jeff buckley. i don't even hate coldplay, i think viva la vida is an interesting record! enjoyable even!
its fine, i got kinda bored halfway through
there are probably 4 standout tracks for me, the rest unfortunately i couldn't get all that into. I'll also acknowledge im just not a fan of julian casablanca's vocals. alone together to hard to explain is a good 3 song stretch though.
sad driving with your grandad music, i really liked Albuquerque and new mama. if i had my way there'd be more lap guitar and less harmonica
this album fucking rocks. this must've pissed people off so bad, it's still very relevant to this day. i will say flav can get kinda grating.
the instrumentation on this album is so rad. aurora borealis is so fucking good. when I looked them up i read they were a big influence on dinosaur jr and you can really tell. vocals can be annoying as fuck
you should hear me do these songs
this shit rips. right up my alley. reminds me of godspeed you! black emperor. i can get if people don't like it though. good rainy day album
never actually listened to this one, but it rips tbh. the first couple songs i was a little indifferent to but once it hits good grief it settled in for me.
love peter gabriel, love genesis. this is just killer, experimental fun. crazy that he can make songs about these dark topics so catchy
i am just not a fan of this style of music, at least from this era. i love about half of the rock music from the 60s and can't handle the other half.
nile rogers is a king
very intense music. you can feel the pain and emotion in it. that being said im not sure how often id want to relisten
actually pretty cool. i feel like there's a lot of sampling potential here
ccr fuckin rocks
i have listened to this album more times than i can count. this is extremely formative music for me.
absolutely goated with the sauce swag style
