Yesterdays album of the #aotdchallenge was “Is This It” by the Strokes. Released in 2001, this was the bands first album. This 11 song track spans a little over 30 minutes in total. It’s a fast paced alt-rock album that has a lot of hits on it. In the album they focus a lot on the rhythm as each member comes at it in their own unique way. With quick guitar riffs, harmonious bass line, and punk rock drums, the band creates a very unique and exciting sound. The lyrics, while nothing special, go along really well with the songs and act as another layer to the music rather than it’s own thing. Overall I’m going to give this album a 8.1. I really enjoyed this album and will definitely be listening to more of them soon!
