1001 Albums Summary

High school me would never admit it, but this album ripped back in the day. And it still does. I’m really surprised how much I enjoyed this

I remember listening to this in high school while working and not really getting it. 10+ years later, I understand it a bit better. I still prefer early circle jerks and black flag, but there’s good stuff here. Lexicon Devil rips

This was nostalgic for me. I remember listening to Loretta and similar music with my grandparents (on the rare occasions they did listen to music) in the car on their farm. Not something I’d keep in normal rotation, but I enjoyed it

This brings me back. I discovered LCD soundsystem early in college, and they had a chokehold on me for a minute. I haven’t listened to them in a while, and just kinda chose to ignore their comeback album. Still, this album’s fun, even for a guy who doesn’t dance. Good song structure and production, and the sequencing is perfect. Certain parts of it haven’t aged well-the 00’s millennial smarminess is kinda grating at times, but overall, good album

One of those “separate the art from the artist” things for M.I.A. I like her music, but not so much her recent politics. Still, good album

I still prefer In Utero, but it’s good.
