xx by The xx
Mar 07 2025

I have tried to listen to this album soooo many times but every time I get bored. This was probably my 10th listen. Islands and Intro are classics but then the rest gets a little samey. I’ll try it again soon but for now a 3.

Queen II by Queen
Mar 09 2025

I never thought to listen to a full Queen album because I didn't want to undermine the magic of the hits I know with some filler tracks. But hey, this album is very good, of course. Rock opera to the max.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Mar 10 2025

I loved this album in middle school/high school when I was angsty. But the thing about this album is that it goes beyond angst and feeling to achieve some real guitar wizardry.

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Mar 13 2025

I had never listened to this album in full but I used to love the song "Bring on the Night," and I still do. I think that song is beautiful! Having this song next to the post-punk vibe of "It's Alright For You" shows the range of the Police. Overall, this album gives me family barbecue vibes -- why? I think maybe we listened to "Message in a Bottle" a lot as a family so it came on for July 4th get-togethers. This was solidified by the hypermasculinist "On Any Other Day," which felt like a song written by a little boy. Glad that Sting wasn't singing this one primarily because it made me feel like it wasn't actually a Police song. Anyway -- because of the strength of a few songs on this album, it gets a three! I don't feel the pull to listen to much of this album again besides "Bring on the Night" really.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Jun 18 2025

There's a handful of songs I LOVE on this album that I already knew. There's a few that I will need to listen to again. I listened to this while doing work, but I enjoyed it most of the way through.
