Popular Reviews

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles

Nice background music for a dinner party. Lots of brass and big band vibes. I prefer Ray’s blues-infused music.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Mar 11 2025

I liked Nirvana when Nevermind first blew up. I like their quieter moments better so prefer Something in the Way and Lithium. I mostly find them almost manic-sounding now and they kinda stress me out. That being said, Nevermind is iconic and inspired a generation of grunge bands. 3/5 for that. 2/5 me wanting to listen to it. 1/5 album cover.

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Mar 12 2025

I know some of their most famous songs but havent listened to too much Public Enemy. I liked it more than I thought I would. 3/5 for me. 0/5 that it’s still so relevant.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Mar 13 2025

Good album. Even though this was the first ZZ Top album I had heard, I like their older bluesier stuff better. And that TV Dinner song is the worst.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Mar 14 2025

Nice background music for a dinner party. Lots of brass and big band vibes. I prefer Ray’s blues-infused music.

Manassas by Stephen Stills

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Mar 18 2025

I like Psycho Killer but otherwise not a big fan.

Mar 21 2025

Prob the best U2 album. Some classics on there.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Mar 22 2025

I liked this a lot! He just defines the blues. A few songs felt like they went on a little long (like the Blues Brothers were making their escape or something). Bus Driver made me laugh “my baby left me for a bus driver. He used to give her rides during the day and now she gives him rides at night” haha classic

Oar by Alexander 'Skip' Spence
Mar 23 2025

I really liked some of the songs on this one. His voice sounds so different in every song…I prefer the ones where he sings in a lower register like Cripple Creek or Weighted Down. Things got weird after first 10 songs or so. My rating is for the first half of the songs as originally released.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Mar 26 2025

Love this one. Fast Car, Behind the Wall…so beautiful with such sad themes. I’d forgotten what a great album this is.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
Mar 27 2025

This one was a little weird. Not my fave when it comes to jazz. Sounded nothing like Monsters Inc.

Behaviour by Pet Shop Boys
Mar 28 2025

I like old Pet Shop Boys stuff but didn’t enjoy this one. Over-produced and just weird.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Mar 29 2025

I liked this one. I don’t usually listen to Radiohead but this was good!

Immigrés by Youssou N'Dour
Mar 30 2025

I liked this! It was nice and upbeat in the background while I was working.

Close To You by Carpenters
Mar 31 2025

A couple of decent songs but mostly this is just not my genre. Omg their version of Help is bonkers.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Apr 01 2025

Great album. Some songs I wasn’t as familiar with but I really enjoyed it.

Ctrl by SZA
Apr 02 2025

I liked this ok. Not usually one I would seek out but it was good.

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Apr 03 2025

Not bad! I pride myself on knowing a lot of 80s music but had never heard of these guys before. They had a bit of a weird ‘sitcom theme’ sound at times but still fun.
