Time Out
The Dave Brubeck Quartet
This was the first jazz album I have listened to from start to finish. The first jazz musician I ever heard was Fats Waller, and he is quite a character and a fantastic jazz artist.
This album was a completely different listening experience, not in a bad way at all, just different. Unique sounds that I have not been exposed to before. Blue Rondo À la Turk was a phenomenal opening track, which let me know right off the rip that this was going to be a listeing experience with changing tempos and varying intensities. Take Five is great, we all know that. The rest of the tracks were all good, but nothing stood out remarkably.
Great album to have in the background while working or as the main focus of my attention. This has definitely made me want to listen to more jazz music and I would recommned this album to others.

It was the first Bossa nova/jazz album I listened to, and I was pleased with it. After a while, it became repetitive, so I lost a bit of interest in it, but it was a calming and enjoyable listen. It placed me in a mood in which I felt like I was swaying on a white sand beach with a fine honey. Will probably revisit to make this a reality.

MAN, I feel like dancing! If you don't feel the need to move your body and shift your feet after hearing the first two tracks, I'm sorry, but you must be dead inside. Like damn baby, I feel bad for you because this music makes the soul feel right.
I'll be honest, the vibe does drop off quite a bit after the first two, but this is not to say that the album is bad. Nothing super memorable for me aside from Le Freak, Happy Man, and maybe Sometimes You Win.
Give it a listen, though.
Ciao!

There is a reason why my dad has this album among his vinyl collection, it is a pretty good album. I'm not sure what else to say except it was dope and I'll be coming back to it for a cheeky listen.

Amazing. Sensational. A music experience unlike any other. I loved the entire album and will listen to it many times over. I hate that it isn't on any music streaming service, might shed a tear or two because of this but what are you gonna do?

It was okay. I didn't care about this album; I thought it was severely meh. I don't like his voice. Sorry if you are angry by this. Womp, womp.

I feel that music like this, meaning made with synthesizers, keyboards, sampled vocals, and essentially a repetitive track for 2-3 minutes, is what makes people think this type of music isn't real music. I understand that argument, but I feel it is a little unfair as some unique sounds and enjoyable tracks can be created from this type of medium. There are a few tracks that I enjoyed, but the album can get quite repetitive.

I don't diminish and trash on a genre of music or a band simply because I can't find enjoyment listening to it; Slipnot is no different. I do not understand this type of music, and I never will, and that is okay. I am impressed by the intensity with which the instruments are played, the sound the band can create, and the vocal fry the singer expertly and masterfully produces.
I will confess that I did enjoy/tolerate a few songs, and I have listened to Slipnot in the gym as the intensity/aggression of the music while working out can act as a motivator. Outside of the gym, however, I cannot fathom why anyone goes out of their way to listen to this.
