Lou ReedI only got to hear the first five songs, but I can already see why this record was so influential. Indie rock and jangle pop owe a lot to this record. Hangin' Around was an underrated gem, for me.

This is a classic case of Side A is way better than Side B, as was the case for many albums of that time. Fun listen, especially the disco dance cuts, but it definitely fades in the album. If you never heard Sometimes You Win, I'm not so sure you're really missing out. I honestly liked the instrumentals and wish there was more. The female singers were far and away better than the male counterparts, and the songs are worse when they are front and center. If someone threw this on at a party, I think it'd be a good record to show you have taste and like to have fun. No need to go into that big of a deep dive. On a scale of -5 to 5, this is a 2.
It's Rumours. If you hate this album, no you don't. Not many albums come close to perfection, but there's virtually no notes here. Nearly every song is a classic. You could put this on shuffle and still think that was how the tracklist was supposed to be. From a scale of -5 to 5, this is the easiest 5 ever made.
A hip hop touchstone. Perfectly encapsulates it's era but also still sounds as fun as the year or was made. Others may say it's repetitive, but that's like saying anyone who sings the blues just sings sad stuff. It's talking about the world it comes from, and that was it. On a scale of -5 out of 5, easy 5. The Rumors of rap.
I definitely hear Sufan Stevens, at least his early stuff here. I can see where he drew inspiration. The first two tracks were great, and I thought there were some here and there that landed, but a lot seemed a forgettable. The lyrics are definitely tinged given his death around this time. Overall, if someone time me you'd was their favorite album, I would guess their second and third favorite artist is Conner Oberst and Sufjan. Love the earnestness and I think of i listened again the other tracks would grow on me. On a scale of -5 to 5, solid 3.
