Mr. Brightside is a millennial anthem, if not THE millennial anthem. This album is nostalgic more than anything, and is somehow vintage. It is both emblematic of a moment in time and a classic you can listen to 1000 times over.

This was too too fun, and I recognized a couple of the songs! I actually laughed at the song Banana Split For My Baby. People are PRESSED about Moonbeam Ice Cream, saying they don't make music like they used to. Well...maybe not so true. I would listen to this on a Saturday morning, while cooking dinner, or if I just need a pick-me-up. Life goes on...without me!
The only reason this album is on any list is because Andy Warhol produced it and created cool cover art, there I said it. It sounds like noise. So much screeching. There's a reason it wasn't well received commercially at the time, and why pretentious nerds keep putting it on lists today.
It’s the purest form of hip hop, relying on catchy beats and storytelling. It’s lighthearted, it’s fun, it’s tricky!
