Music often is nostalgic to begin with and then becomes nostalgia to its listeners. So I will have trouble putting this and many Beatles records into a personal rating system. Because I don’t feel nostalgic for this. That being said I like the Wrecking Crew and the lead vocals are great. I also always like the Hang on to your ego version of I know an answer.

Ironically, I had this lp on vinyl. Re-listening now Tentative Decisions stands out to me. I'm not a David Byrne fan but I imagine this made quite a splash in 1977. I like Tina Weymouth's bass a lot.

I've tried. I've tried. I'm just not a jazz guy.

Is it bad to say I like the sound not the vocals? In 2025, it feels like overly affected.

Experimental for sure and I can hear the origins of industrial dance music that I love only with no pay off. Every song feels like the beginning of song that is about to kick ass.

Another okay album. I’m underwhelmed by this list. This is a one-hit wonder.

I like this one. But Piece of Mind (1983) a couple years later is stronger and more fully realized. Listen to The Trooper for the quintessential Iron Maiden song.

Not my style. I heard k.d. do a cover of Neil Young where the vocals are not affected and the Patsy Cline stuff is gone. Much more to my liking. Check out Hymns of the 49th Parallel.

What is this? It feels like something that would be on my drama club mix tape. It's not awful. It feels like a group influenced by the Smiths. Only without the cleverness or charm.

Wtf. Shitty covers. No Son of Preacher Man? No thanks. In what world would you ever listen to this version of Will You Love Me Tomorrow over the Shirelles version? I’m listening to the Carole King (writer) version right now. James Taylor and Joni Mitchell are singing back up!!!

This album only has 2 good songs on it. I enjoyed this for what it was. Self disclosure: I am not a trumpet guy and I struggle with Jazz.

I once had a dream about this album. I was running over a field of frozen lava. It was rocky terrain and ran across it effortless without falling or getting hurt. The song Ultra Violet was playing. I don't love every song on this thing but I have trouble remembering 1991 or 1992 without it. I remember skateboarding to it.

5 STARS. THE FIRST MASTERPIECE so far.

One of my favorites in the 90s. Great live band.
