Electric Warrior
T. Rex
Having never heard of T. Rex before this, I was pleasantly surprised how much I boogied to this album on my commute.
Favorites: Raw Ramp for reminding me of the days I was a White Tramp, Bang a Gong (Get it On) for the name and Sax, Woodland Rock for the feeling like I was watching the comic relief of a county fair scene in a horror movie.
Bonus: Ian McDonald on the sax was *chef's kiss*. Appreciate the introduction to him.
Extra points for the interview and his desire to get America and children listening to this genre. I don't know if it worked out then but I'm a fan so I hope he's getting a posthumous hard-on about it.
7/10, would listen again.

I'll be at the pyramids, pyramiiiiids...
Honestly, this album was immediately forgettable as a whole. Mid, as the kids say.

1984
Van Halen
I can only speculate that Eddie embraced synths in order to save his fingers from the constant onslaught of women and requested guitar solos.
Roth was adamantly against it and I would have to agree, except that Jump is more famous and recognizable than any of Eddie's riffs. Rich and famous has a price, and the price this time was being cemented into history as just another group known for Redneck anthems. Hope they didn't spend it all.

Bringing It All Back Home
Bob Dylan
Just goes to show you that all throughout history people will bitch about anything just to bitch. Imagine gatekeeping this because he used electricity on side A. Genius is genius and people are allowed to get bored.
Favorite tracks: Ma, Dream

Come Away With Me
Norah Jones
An interesting history--one of the first documented cases of a "hit song" algorithm predicting how Don't Know Why and Come Away with Me would smash charts.
Having grown up with this when Barnes and noble still smelled like coffee instead of rotting restroom, this album always reminds me of a purity jazz hasn't seen since the 2000s. This one will always have a special place in my heart.
Cold, Cold Heart is a masterpiece.
People who rate this 2 or less probably have never known love or still hold grudges against their exes.

Make Yourself

Grew up with this album and it meant a lot to me at different times. Also Brandon is the second best model of positive masculinity after Aragorn.
On this most recent listen I experienced a Mandela effect where Nowhere Fast ended abruptly on count 3 at around the 3-minute 20 second mark. How did I never notice this? Was it remastered, are they so genius and I'm still noticing things 20 years later? No, my wife was calling to interrupt my listening experience. Ironically, she gave the song the hardest ending it never had. Thanks, Honey.
