It’s so good. Like if the Minutemen were a classic rock band. And I say that with all sincerity and positivity.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Jul 18 2025

This crew understood the importance of extremes in rock and roll. For this album, they cranked everything- song lengths, instrumentation, emotion, and lyrics up to 11. And never let up for a second.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Jul 19 2025

The hits are amazing, all time classics. Vienna and Scenes are fan favorite deep cuts for a reason. The other songs, and it’s just two songs really, are almost filler tracks that drop it to less than five stars.

Ocean Rain by Echo And The Bunnymen
Jul 20 2025

Good, not great? I enjoy it, but it isn’t my favorite from them.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Jul 21 2025

This album is weighted so heavily to “Don’t Know Why” that one forgets the rest of the album is great too.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Jul 22 2025

Stan Getz is a fantastic blower. Not a great guy. But this album is quite good, almost in par with his greatest works.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Jul 23 2025

It’s… fine? I never got into the Sugarcubes the way I got into Bjork.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

The first four Sabbath albums are perfection.

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
Jul 25 2025

Lots of good Elvis albums, only a handful of truly great ones. This album is great.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jul 27 2025

Seminal Jazz fusion.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Jul 29 2025

Classic. I wish Snoop kept caring instead phoning it in basically for the rest of his career after this one.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Jul 30 2025

It’s their best album. Except for the other three (not counting Squeeze, though that’s great too…), which are also their best album.

Supa Dupa Fly by Missy Elliott
Jul 31 2025

It’s very good. Her relaxed confidence in her art oozes throughout.

It’s okay. I want to like it. I’m told by influencers, critics and gatekeepers that I should like it. And the beats slap. But I never long to return to it.
