a bit droning. not for me.
seems like a wannabe album. not bad but there's much stronger similar sounds both from around that time and more current.
Black Sabbath close enough to Heavy Metal that it's not entirely fair to rate it since I asked to exclude the category. Like most of the category, this record is overweight, indulgent. At its best moments it touches on blues influenced rock but I'd rather the Yardbirds by 100000000%. Wasp et al so far is the best selection although it's also too long and indulgent
A sharp, clean album. A throw back that throws forward.
raw power = pure rock and roll
Bluesbreakers .... Yardbirds .... definitely a great era for English rnr
a mix of late electro new wave and 90s alternative
Who doesn't love the Smiths although the first album might be preferred over The Queen is Dead
it's very difficult to understand why this is included in the 1001 best albums of all time. it's average and makes me wish to listen to throbbing gristle. much more like this and the game' over
fela!
Strikes as a transition album from There Goes Rhymin' Simon / Still Crazy After All These Years to Graceland.
so so ... and how can Punk have all these instruments
wish i liked this more
just feels a little dated
another one that is very hard to understand how it is one of the 1001
An uneven pop experience - Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule the World) are wonders - the rest so so
can't possibly be one of the top 1001 records
