1001 Albums Summary

Looking at the album cover I was expecting a more somber and yearning for either love or life type of sound. Of course some songs give that message, but overall has a more upbeat tone. As it’s an 80’s album the vocalist has a distinct sound and tone that I do enjoy. In some songs he uses that voice to create a more wallowing and ‘pathetic’ feeling, that fit the album cover in a way. Backing vocals is very nice. Instrumental wise I also enjoy. If it was just instrumental its the vibe of ‘whimsical’ and seems of a more older era. It mixes well with his voice and lyrics of the album. An album that I wouldn’t turn off, and would turn up. The instrumental breaks I found catchy Plan B and I’ll Show You is a good song duo and I’ll Show You seems to be my favorite of the album. I’ve giver 10 put of the 15 songs from the album a like. 8 /10

From visuals alone from the album cover. Pre listen i’m imagining a ‘upbeat’ instrumentals and ‘oingo boingo’ vocals to best describe it. Now listening they are alt rock and the instrumentals are more set in that genre.
