Suede by Suede
Aug 15 2025

7.5/10 Suede's self-titled album is the most sensual and dreamy britpop I've ever heard!! (the lead singer sounds a little wimpish, but that's okay) It's britpop for people who dislike the genre. (à la Parklife) it's more palatable than the quirky britpop I'm used to. this will be a grower for sure!! top three tracks: • So Young • Animal Nitrate • Sleeping Pills least favourite track: • The Next Life

Synchronicity by The Police
Aug 16 2025

7/10 Synchronicity started out promising, but fell a little flat towards the end for me. overall though, a pretty good listen. I love the tribal influence on Walking in Your Footsteps, and wish they fully embraced it for the entire album!! it's a lot more interesting!! this album is categorized as New Wave, but to be honest, I don't hear much of it. top three tracks: • Walking in Your Footsteps • Every Breath You Take • Synchronicity II least favourite track: • King of Pain

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Aug 17 2025

7/10 I'm not too familiar with jazz in general, (it's just not a genre I typically gravitate towards AT ALL) but... this album is... nice? I mean, it is very pleasant to listen to, but for an entire album? probably not something I'd ever do again. (although I know there are other jazz-related albums in this 1,001 list) Stan Getz was a clearly talented sax player, and how he made the instrument come to life here is amazing!! I'd describe it as "playful" or "cheerful". top three tracks: • Samba De Uma Nota Só • Bahia • Desafinado least favourite track: • É Luxo Só
