Scream, Dracula, Scream by Rocket From The Crypt
Aug 15 2025

Its a fun album. I like the mixture of punky/surfy guitar and a crooning singer. Reminds me of lots of ska of the era but it holds up much better. Rocket from the Crypt is a classic. Its an enjoyable listen, but doesn't leap out at me. 1 = hate this 2 = don't like it but not in a mean way 3 = good 4 = i love this 5 = top 5% of best albums ever? So probably only 50 albums in the run will get this score.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Aug 18 2025

Really fun album. Loved the blues influence. Hadn't listened to much of the Doors less famous output and it's good.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Aug 19 2025

Already know this album well. An absolute classic. Loads of amazing songs on here: breaking the girl, suck my kiss, give it away, under the bridge, I could have lied. Probably their best album. Still edgy and dumb as well as being smart and heartfelt. Their later output doesn't hit as well.

Harvest by Neil Young
Aug 20 2025

It really is beautiful. His voice is delicate and raw. The instrumentation is beautiful. Some classic song writing. Its just not on heavy rotation for me. Very much at "the 60s were actually during the 70s" record.

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Aug 21 2025

Just incredibly. You can hear the studio being used as an instrument and the guitar as a sound effects pedal straight from the first track. Spanish Castle Magic sounds like proto-heavy metal. You can hear Sgt Peppers feeding into this then this feeding into songs like Helter Skelter. Such a prodigous talent, so much good music at this time. Might actually be my favourite Hendrix record.

Blur by Blur
Aug 22 2025

Can hear the grunge influences. Soundgarden or Judas and Mary Chain in places. Guilty of not listening to the albums over best ofs and compilations. A fascinating album with incredibly high highs and self-indulgent lows. One of those albums that should be shorter. Can an album with so many skippable songs be a 4/5? Or should you rank it as tho it's the sum of its best 4 or 5 tracks?

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Aug 25 2025

Oh come on. It's incredible. This is almost like nothing else. Inventing the future. Whole Lotta Love. Moby Dick. Heartbreaker. Ramble On. Bring it on Home. Wooo.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Aug 26 2025

Extremely strong album. So many good songs. Saw here in 2025 and she still ha such an amazing singing voice. The stand out tracks are good but the others are less memorable. Still 4/5.

Aug 27 2025

It's very good. But it's got some standout tracks and great listening but I'm not putting it on often.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Sep 04 2025

Very enjoyable. The Forest is a total classic. Rest a bit smart but very enjoyable.
