Easy listening vocals, reminds me or a subdued Van Morrison with less horns. Perhaps the last whispers of doo-wop and 50's oldies combine with meaningful lyrics. Little bit of blues, even a hint of early Bowie.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Strange. Album seemed to take forever. The vocals remind me of a cantor that Is saying a lot over the music. I think I'm missing the point of this selection.

Great album. I hadn't listened to it from start to finish in many years. The music holds up. Kurt's vocals steal the show. Great album.

The jazz elements were interesting, 21st Century Schizoid Man was best. Most lyrics seemed very Late 60's with a lot of moon child and type of stuff. My mind opened to to them being more than just crimson and clover but still not my jam.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul

Well, unfortunately I was underwhelmed by the album. A few songs had some pop but the pop was the sample and the vocals only took away from the samples. I say unfortunately because I started enjoying music at about this time in 1989/1990. EPMD or NWA seemed to be way stronger lyrically and I hoped this was similar. Sounded like they had a lot of fun making it as 19-21 year olds but unfortunately it sounded like a bunch of 19-21 year olds. I wish I got it but didn't.

Ooff. Impressive that it's all with vocals but a tough listen.
