70’s music is my favourite so this is a great place to start! — Okay, so. I absolutely loved the first song, The Wall Street Shuffle, and immediately added it to my August 2025 playlist. Really fucking good song. The album kind of nosedived for me after that BUT I think with a few more listens, it might grow on me. I adore 70’s music so I’m willing to give it a few more chances to really grip me. It’s not a bad album by any means, it just didn’t hook me the way I expected it to.

Ooooooh, I don’t know a lot of Ray Charles (except Hit the Road Jack which most people do) so I’m hyped. — BEAUTIFUL ALBUM. There was something incredibly soothing about this, I don’t know what it was but Ray Charles voice is so comforting to me. Despite not being overly familiar with his music I found this album nostalgic which was an odd feeling but certainly not an unwelcome one. “You Don’t Know Me” and “Don’t Tell Me Your Troubles” were standouts but the whole album is solid.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Aug 27 2025

Year I was born, let’s go! — This gave me whiplash. There were songs that I loved (To Forgive, Take Me Down, Farewell and Goodnight) and songs that drove me mental but overall … it was decent. I can now say that I know more than one Smashing Pumpkins song so 👍🏼

Providing me with more 70’s music is a guaranteed way to improve my day. __ Kinda disappointed. While I like the sound, it’s repetitive after the third track. Nothing particularly stood out to me but I can’t really deny that it is a vibe. If you’re after a very stereotypically 70’s sounding album to have on in the background, this would be a solid choice but it’s not an album I would actively listen to for fun.
