Arise
SepulturaI’m not usually one that seeks out metal, but can appreciate it when the mood strikes. This album got me through a late night 10k training run that I wasn’t otherwise particularly motivated for. A perfect metal album!

Although I can understand why this album is culturally significant, it’s not really for me. I did enjoy a few songs greatly, but the misses were too far from my personal taste for me to rate this any higher.
I greatly enjoyed this album. I’m also surprised I had never heard any songs outside of Come On Eileen! The energy and vibe of these songs just put you in a good mood. The back half really shone for me.
Very witchy vibe. This album wasn’t my favorite and I have a feeling I’ll forget what it sounded like by tomorrow, but I can appreciate what they were going for here. Top 3 tracks in order for me were Night Shift, Spellbound, Headcut.
This album is a masterpiece. Great messaging in the interludes also.
I have to say the first few tracks were pretty bland and I wasn’t looking forward to listening to the rest. The back half, though, greatly improved. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this happen during this project, which makes me wonder if it just takes me a while to warm up to the artist’s sound. In any case, though, the album was okay but not really my cup of tea. Standout songs for me were Wrapped Around Your Finger and Mother.
