[...And the Gods Made Love], the instrumental intro to [Little Miss Strange], [Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)]
I like [All Along the Watchtower] and then [House Burning Down] best, relative to this album. The former I wouldn't skip through if it came on the radio. I may even listen to it independently if in the mood. It's giving D&D, too. Good for listening to when homebrewing 5e.
Favourite: All Along the Watchtower
Didn't listen to the entire album in one sitting this time, mostly because I've heard it in pieces over the years. There isn't a single song I disliked, but there weren't any I was crazy about, either. Solid album, something I'd play if I were deep into cleaning my room and wanting an upbeat 80s playlist to listen to.
I'm sure it's alright, it's just that I tend to fall asleep whenever I hear this album. Not out of boredom, but it's soothing enough to lull me into sleep even though I've been having some problems falling asleep, lately. Gotta say it's a solid album, in this case, lmao.
I think it's the whole feels-like-being-in-a-transition-scene vibes going on in this album, huge fan of it. It makes me picture a road trip in a well-loved car, from a humid summer into a slowly cooling autumn.
Not a fan of most folk songs, but I'll admit to liking [Smokey River] and [Alice's Wonderland]. The rest bored me.
[How D'You Ride] had a strong start but soon became repetitive, [The Whole World's Goin' Crazee] is understandably iconic albeit I couldn't sit through the entire song (could probably do so if it came on the radio). [Look at Last Nite] had a darker? tone and it felt shorter than the others.
The rest of the songs blended into one sound for me, apart from one or two slower ones.
Didn't expect much. Unexpectedly good start: [The History Song] ends with a discordant which sounded nice against everything else in the song. Very calming. I like the sentiments behind [80s Life]. Enjoyed [Northern Whale]'s instrumentals.
Huge fan of synth use.
Favourite(s): Northern Whale, Kingdom of Doom, Herculean.
Three Changes would be good in an animatic.
Whilst rated 3/5, it'd easily be a 3.8–4/5 if I'm in the mood for something slower.
Like the sound, but a tad too slow for me.
Didn't like it enough to listen past the first few songs.
This is so fun! [Lust for Life] is very upbeat, a different sound from what I usually go for. [Sixteen] is also nice. [Passenger] is just, lovely.
Favourite(s): Passenger, Neighbourhood Threat
