On the first listen it sounded fun and I would definitely listen to it again or use some songs to study. I liked that the album was consistent with the whole vibe, but the genre was my favourite. For me the album lacked replayability with some songs and I found some parts of songs quite annoyingly repeating. Favourite track was Serial Thrilla. I would rate this album 3.8/5
I was really excited to listen to this album, but I already heard some of the songs before. I love the beach boys and I heard great things about the album. I wasn't disappointed, it was moody and melodic and great to listen to. I feel I have to give this album a deeper dive next listen, but for now it definitely caught my attention. Favourite song on the album God only Knows the album rating 4.4/5
At first I felt I wouldn't like this album, but it pleasantly surprised me. It had that old classic rock vibes which was good for nostalgia, but unfortunately it wasn't much more then that. I also felt somewhat unexplainably a sense of country music in it, but maybe it was just the lyrics. What I didn't like however is the repetitiveness in both lyrics and style, but I can't go over the fact that this album came out almost 70 years ago and music then and now are completely different. My favourite song was Rock Me My Baby. I would rate this album a flat 3/5 just out of respect for that era of music, but in this day and age I don't think I would be surprised if someone around my age would consider this album bad.
I like this album, but there is nothing more to it. It had several changes in tones which I liked, but to be honest it was nothing special in my opinion. Of course I love Californa Dreamin', but other than that this album didn't feel that special to me. And because of that I feel a bit disappointed, because I like most of the Mamas & the Papas songs and albums I've listened to before, so I would rate this album a 3.4/5. Favourite song on the album of course is Californa Dreamin'.
To be completely honest at first I was excited to listen to Cyndi Lauper, because I knew Girls Just Want to Have Fun already and I liked it, but this album got old really quickly. Her voice is hard to listen to in some of the songs I was almost considering skipping it, but I listened through it, but it was a struggle. I would rate this album 2.3/5, but Girls Just Want to Have Fun is still good
I never heard U2 before, but both of my parents love them. And this album was such a pleasant listen. Sometimes it felt a bit repetitive and slow, but other times I was really enjoying the music. The opening song Sunday Bloody Sunday was my favourite and it gave the album a good starting vibe and mostly the album never lost that charm. I would rate this album 3.8/5
This album was so good! I enjoyed almost every song and this was the first album that really took my attention. I was focusing on the music and the lyrics and it was a blast! I feel except for Vicar in a Tutu and SGABTO there were no misses and these weren't bad, but they felt that they don't belong on this album. Other than that it was a really good listen. I have two favourites here I Know It's Over and There is a Light. I would rate this album 4.6/5
This was a really funky and avant-garde album, which I enjoyed. I never heard of them before, although I've seen the album cover once or twice. And although I don't prefer 15-20 minute long songs, I felt that this album finished rather quickly. I mean I think it's easy to process and it is easy to listen to. I won't pick a favourite on this album I liked all the songs somewhat equally, but for different reasons. I would rate this 3.7/5
