1001 Albums Summary

Background noise. Nothing memorable. One song lifts the riff from Lust for Life. "Neighborhood" slightly varies from the indecipherable songs. "Haiti" sounds like a different band in a good way bc female vocals mostly, but lots of ho hey garbage. This album is painful.

I was forced to listen to this 8 track in the back of my dad's car as a child. While I liked most of his music, I hated this record, except for "El Paso." I hope Robbins' estate sued the Statler Bros for stealing this entire sound and only making the lyrics more schmaltzy.

Not sure I've ever listened to this record. Obviously the lead tune is nostalgic and deeply ingrained for me, as are the 2 covers. Upon listening straight through though, all I could think was how fun it would have been to sit around while they played through this short record beginning to end. I would love that version of these songs. As is, it's choppy and sounds like they were told to write a radio hit and a radio ready cover so they could get the rest of the songs out there.

I had honestly never listened to anything except Legend. This was cool.
