I loved this album when my godfather got it for me in high school. It feels like a modern David Bowie sci-fi rock opera
- Love this era of bob dylan: a little electric, a little acoustic, poetic, goofy, with a good smattering of storytelling - I feel like he gets lampooned for having frustrating vague and poetic lyrics but songs like Maggie’s Farm and other middle of the album songs are just great folk storytelling - Unsure if the end of the album is what bringing it all back home is in reference to because it’s the acoustic section
It’s a classic! Muscle Shoals represent. This album is so fun. It’s hard to not get lost in the iconic-ness of this but it’s just really fun.
I tried but this is just not for me. The back half of the album is much better than the first and starting at No Cars Go, it’s quite good. That song and Suburban War really save it for me
Because I’m an American, I’ve listened to maybe 1 Robbie Williams song that I’m aware of. Places it seems like this album should be played: 1) Sainsbury’s 2) Warm up at a Swansea match 3) Establishing overhead shot of London in a Hugh Grant movie I enjoyed more songs than I thought I would but when I think about what music was coming out of Britain in 1997, this feels like a much squeakier album with less musical innovation. Also forgot about hidden tracks being a thing!
Enjoyable listen and solid album but kinda forgettable and doesn’t really resonate emotionally for me
Love it. This is my kind of sound
It’s a classic for a reason. I take away 1 star because of Flavor Flav.
Didn’t finish it but liked what I listened to especially Tokyo Storm Warning

I really like this era of Queen and I like listening to an album instead of just the super popular hits. There are so many bangers on this album. Operatic and kind of Monty Python-esque zany at times. I’m always amazed by the sheer talent in this band.
Top tier shit
I’m a fan. It’s interesting how long lasting this sound has been. Thinking of bands like Arctic Monkeys and Gorillaz which still have some similar sounds
I didn’t dislike this turn to more pop sounds for animal collective when this album first came out but I am much more a fan of their weirder stuff on sung tongs, feels, and some of strawberry jam.
Never heard of this band so was excited to get something new on here! Really enjoyed several songs but also really hated several. I appreciate how weird and experimental it is. Can definitely hear how this was an influential underground/punk sound that crossed into several other bands. I think I enjoyed the front half more than the back half on this one. Thriller! Is where it starts to turn a bit for me.
I adore this album. Great lyrics, great samples, great execution. Only thing I’ve ever not liked about it is the skits.
