She's So Unusual
Cyndi Lauper
An emotional album overall, including solid pop ballads in "Time after Time" and "All Through the Night" (minus the weird synth interlude), and exploring musical themes, drifting from ballads to pop anthems to new wave/rock-leaning tracks.
Cyndi's vocal range is impressive, highlighted by the A#5 in her cover of Prince's `When You Were Mine`

Haven't listened to a lot of The Doors -- was a bluesier than I expected (not bad).

R.E.M.
I personally really like Michael Stipe's voice, but I know it's not for everyone. However, a pretty mid-album with their singles really being the stand out tracks (It's the end of the world... & The one I love)

Ramones
Some bangers (Blitzkrieg Bop, Beat on the Brat, Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World), a dagger to the ear (53rd & 3rd), and the rest blend together into a solid punk medley. Classic punk sounds wrapped up in ~29 minutes.

Rust Never Sleeps
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
A solid summer backyard album. I'm not the biggest fan of listening to live recordings, but the live tracks blended in well with the studio recordings.

Don't Stand Me Down
Dexys Midnight Runners
This is definitely a product of the 80s. They lean into a lot of the same sounds throughout the album, which echo "Come on Eileen." Which leaves me wanting to abandon this album for that track, which is overall more polished and has more life to it.
I do love the bassy, desperate sound of "Listen to This".

Such a good album. Solid songs, with solid themes, vocals, harmonies, and variety.

A solid post-punk alt-rock vibe. Some delightful guitar moments that sounds like they may have inspired the Strokes.

Another Music In A Different Kitchen
Buzzcocks
Solid punk/post punk album. Makes me wish I could skateboard, would be a solid soundtrack for that. Sound-wise, not a lot of variation track over track

Lady Soul
Aretha Franklin
Chain of fools is a personal fave of mine, so crackin' way to dive right into the album. What a voice. So many feels. Ain't No Way pulls at the heart strings. A solid soul album.
