All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Sep 02 2025

Obviously first album he released after the demise of the Beatles. Pleasing but for me it shows the power of the band and Lennon and McCartney. Hopefully his other band which is terrific -with Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty…sort of proves the point…

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Sep 03 2025

Different view of Oasis now I read the lyrics. They played Wembley Arena when I worked at Wembley but I didn’t bother going to see them. Higher rating now than then because of the lyrics and Gaynor bumped into Noel in Waitrose in Beaconsfield when she pitched his trolley and he was nice to her🤓

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Sep 05 2025

Watermelon man apparently his best - I didn’t get it but then wasn’t brought up in 1960’s Chicago..the others were pretty staccato to me and not much rhythm or meaning. So Herbie’s firm of jazz not for me..

Moondance by Van Morrison
Sep 08 2025

I liked Caravan and agree with VM - the song he would like played at his funeral..

The White Album by Beatles
Sep 09 2025

So lucky to have grown up with the Beatles and artistes of that generation, compared with the relative drivel of today. 18 when this was released just regret not being more into music at that time.

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Sep 11 2025

Bit too ethereal and hippy for me, however, critically acclaimed. Not sure what he’s trying to say or how anyone can write an album about a State-or geographic area….
