Top 3 tracks no order:
The devil gets his due
The shoe goes on the other foot tn
Don’t come home a drinking (with lovin on your mind🗣️❤️🩹)
They lowkey cooked up the whole conscious hip hop thing ( or at least made it popular ). Sections of the album definitely sound aged, but the flows are way too good for the '80s. I don't really want to write a full review because lsimdog got it covered.
Top 3 tracks, in order,
Black Steel
Bring the Noise
Rebel Without a Pause
I'd put it in the 9.4-9.7 range
(Flavor Flav sounds like he could be westide gunn's dad)
Excellent album at its peak, but struggles synergistically, and honestly falls off toward the end.
Brighton Rock is by far my favorite track.
Top 3
Brighton Rock
Flick of the Wrist
Now I'm here
She makes me (stormtrooper something), and dear friends really annoy me
Freddie is a woke king
7.7-8.0
Definitely got some great tracks, but this was the groups third album and they didn’t switch it up at all. Kind of clip-farming in a way, it’s good but short and simple and so i’m lowkey feeling a 3.
Ima be basic my favorite tracks were green river and bad moon rising
This was a hard listen for me for some reason, i just don’t mess with most of the songs on here especially the starting few.
A 2 is probably harsh but my enjoyment level was that low.
Favorite track: Getting in tune
i ain’t really gotta say much
Top 3
Family Business
Two Words
Never let me down
10 🐐
I been on this for a while so this reviews gonna be a bit sweatier.

Elliot Smith’s pretty definitive magnum opus. It’s the only folk album I could compare to Carrie and Lowell. His sound is so distinct, it’s hard to describe. The songwriting has both a poetic and raw, unfiltered side to it, and the contrast works perfectly. The acoustics are amazing, but more importantly, his voice comes through so immaculately at almost all times. The soft delivery, along with the layering and occasional reverb, is CINEMA.
I wouldn’t say the album is perfect, as it comes through a little inconsistent, but the highs are so high and the lows don’t go very low.
I’d go in the 9.4–9.7 range.
I listened to the full 40 minute version on yt. It’s pretty hypnotic but there is literally no progression, the difference between 9 minutes in and 35 minutes in is nonexistent.
I did not need to hear this before I died
Honestly don’t blame anyone for skipping this review
The songwriting and storytelling are really good but the pacing and spaced out instrumentation kills me, the songs sound so much more dragged out than they needed to be. I can understand why it could be a revered album but i don’t really enjoy it.

Bob was cooking at this time 3 super good albums in barely over a year. I do love blonde on blonde but comparing it to show other work it’s runtime hurts it. It drags on a bit and does exhaust me a little more than it rewards me by the end. But that’s really my only complaint with this one and everything else is peak.
Some of my favorites
Stuck inside of a mobile
Visions of Johana
Just like a woman
8.4-8.6
I think it’s one of the best reggae albums and i’ve actually listened to quite a bit. It’s super consistent the whole way through and he’s super transparent in his social commentary. The war on drugs was and is failing #legalizeit
