Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Oct 20 2025

- hell yea chill n ambient n percussiony instrumental intro - gender envy vocals - hooting and howling is a great name for a track - accent is funky, hard to pick up exactly what they're saying but i like it - male vocalist sounds like the guy from bakenaked ladies? - bakenaked ladies if they did ambient post rock - "when im sleepy" another great name - bakenaked ladies meets mika? meets foals? whoah - "we still got the taste dancing on our tongues" has the catchiest chorus so far - ooh underbelly is so ethereal with its little chimes - WHAT what an abrupt ending what i had to go back and replay that the chimes were so nice and then SNIP gone next some heres some drums - "he cried out" in through the iron gate damn mika got VOCALS - i like the guitar in this track - ooh that instrumental fade is nice overall good! sounds very coherent throughout, maybe a bit too much so where tracks kinda blend together. its very ambient post rock in that regard which i like! no crazy highs like explosions in the sky and it kinda just stays at a certain level where it feels like youre about to go over the top of the roller coaster but it never dips down too intensely.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Oct 21 2025

soubour - oh shit that guitar riff at the beginning hell yea brother - vocals hell yea claps hell yea GUITAR HELL YEAH loving this - perfect movie intro song irganda - vocal style is so sick omg - god the instruments are so good Al Hassidi Terei - these guitar riffs just dont quit each song has had a bangin riff - love the singing all together - sound reminds me a bit of the end of the f***ing world soundtrack Sekou Oumarou - oooh a little slower than the others so far - didn't pop off like i expected but its alright Nick - ooh hell yea makes me want to drive around in a convertible on a hot day Ai Tchere Bele - ooh slow intro that gets absolutely fuuuunky - the rhythm in this one is dope Wayei - ooh the vocalizations in this one are cool - also like the guitar riff (although all of them have been banging so far really haha) Petit Metier - ooh acoustic guitar and vocals only so far - guitar again giving me very graham coxon vibes - vocals too - OOH hell yea when the drum/electric guitar and backing vocals come in Jolie - slower, some kind of intrument holding the beat that goes "cuh-tchk", v chill - popped off a bit more at the end nice Desert Melodie - god this guitarist is incredible love it sm - v chill Mali - acoustic + vocals only, melody reminds me a bit of jose gonzales - beautiful ending AWESOME love the entire vibe of this. funky, smooth, groovy- amazing album. no notes 10/10

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Oct 22 2025

The Headmaster - classic guitar intro - ooh the vocals ooh nannanana yayayy are real nice - repetitive, but i feel like its just opening the door to the rest of the album Rusholme Ruffians - ooh LOVE that riff - can definitely hear some of that "heaven knows i'm miserable now" in the way the singer plays with their vocals - outro is cool, like a mechanical switching of songs I Want the One I Can't Have - oh hell yea, sad beachy vibes for sure - beach vibes, car chase, probably my favorite track out of the 3 so far What She Said - nice rockin intro - vocals are such a contrast to the instrumentals; they're so upbeat and then you have the melancholic vocals, especially in this track. i can see why they have such a cult following! That Joke Isn't Funny - now theeeese are the instrumentals i'd expect with these kind of vocals, slower and moodier - oh whoah, just when the song i think is over it fades back in from the dead where it left off, really cool Nowhere Fast - doesn't stand out too much from the rest for me it feels like Well I Wonder - back to slower and sad - well, vocals are sad, instrumentals are chill and kinda soft/beachy in parts Barbarism Begins at Home - love the instrumentals - love the dog barks into the mic hahaha kinda unexpected but not unpleasant - my guy likes his drawn out outros - bass is dope at the end Meat is Murder - as a long time vegetarian; respect lol - like the distortion, sounds pretty different to anything else so far - COWS ? - first song i've heard that is so pro vegetarian, its cool - can't tell if its a kid, a woman or a pitched version of his vocals in the background but its giving me babe vibes which add to the vegetarianess of it all - dang this song came out of left field yet is the title track? maybe the rest of the album is what's out of left field despite being a tumblr kid of the 2010s, i've never listened to a smiths album back to back. i like the instrumentals a LOT, and the messaging and lyrics are dope too! however i don't think i jive well with the lead's vocals, which is too bad as i like the juxtaposition between the upbeat instrumentals and the sad vocals. there's just something thats like can "they put the mic away for a sec? i want to hear more of the isntruments!" all in all alright album, not a fave but don't hate it either.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Oct 23 2025

alright classic mj! never heard this album in full so here we goooo Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough - YEAHHH DISCO a classic - that instumental break feels like a precursor to thriller - boy do i love it when an album fades out one instrument at a time OOH - no notes Rock With You - OOH love this sound - man hearing this makes me miss hearing more of a variety of instuments in modern music - like that trumpet? french horn? idk but whatever it is it adds such texture - LOVE Workin' Day and Night - honestly no notes again this is such a VIBE Get on the Floor - THAT BASS wwoowow - ooh that lower register is nice - OOOH that shaker, "whatchagobegah" "GETTUP" part YEAAA Off the Wall - very chill - insteresting that this one is the title track, it's fun but it doesn't stick out as much as the others to me Girlfriend - O O OH slower, smoooth - YESSS i love a good saxophone - romantic hehe She's Out of My Life - we slowing WAYY down to a ballad - his vocals are out of this world I Can't Help It - is it weird to say i feel like this is one of the tracks that the people who oversaw the production of sonic the hedgehog 3 back in early 90s and were like "lets get him on board- yes THIS is the vibe we want" - in short: smooth, groovy, moody, YES It's The Falling in Love - OH this album don't quit - that guitar ooof - man bring back instrumentals like THIS Burn This Disco - man this whole album is so cool all in all: INCREDIBLE album. you can hear how this album still influences artists to this day 40+ years later. i really wonder what fans of his back then thought when his next few albums went a little more pop and less disco after this one- was it controversial? anyways, instant five stars!

Oct 24 2025

- bombastic intro damn - can kinda hear the you are my sunshine riff in there (bye bye love) - song already sounds like a time capsule smoooth - old disney movie love story vibes really nice - man instrumentals were something else back in the day - very cozy - that saxophone is *chefs kiss* - perfect winter album from these songs so far, so nostalgic and warm - whole album is so romantic, so much yearning very sweet album, brings me to another place and time. i was expecting country but am pleasantly surprised! how can you not love something as sweet as this?

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Oct 26 2025

whoah what an album cover- WAIT 4 songs and its still 40+ minutes? oh these guys mustve been VIBING recording this one - this is exactly the vibe i was expecting and im not disappointed at all - funky weird beats oh yeah and just like that its over! i've been looking for jazzy instrumental playlists with this kinda vibe to listen to while i work, but with the rise of AI taking over those kinda of "vibe while you work" instrumental playlists i haven't looked for them in a while.... so dope that there's a whole album like this!! love it

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Oct 26 2025

another album i've never heard the whole way through! here we go - lmao the spoken intro is a whole audio story - raunchy as i expected - THE WBALLS RADIO AD iconic - yup this is snoop dogg - "what do you want to be when you grow up" "a motherfuckin hustler" lmao - really like the little dialogue bits - feels like an anticlimactic end to a pretty wild album totally get why snoop got the following he did. i finally feel like a real stoner

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Oct 27 2025

- guitar rift reminds me of "are we the waiting" by green day - du du du du du dooo , fluffy, chill - ("hit") what am i listening to what - everything has sounded so chill and samey up until this point huh - i was just thinking damn i would've loved this album in 2014 during my indie rock obsession but now it just falls flat for me - but maybe things will change from here after this track? - "kill surf city" HUH same thing it goes from a guitar riff to distortion? things are spicing up - now we in the demonic screams part of the album - is it weird that its making me like this more - demonic cumming now - how did we get here - and then we go full circle back to indie chill - okay - this was.... an album lol

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Oct 28 2025

first time i'm listening to a metallica album all the way through! lets gooo - i can't unhear matt and try parker in the first song - and the second song - and the third song - also sounds like strong bad from homestar runner?? - "do you hear what i hear" YES and its matt and trey parker/the chapman brothers, etc - instrumentals are bangin though, especially "one" (heard before ofc, i think it was on guitar hero?) overall i get why metallica is as famous and beloved as they are, but i think the amount of parodies of metallica i've heard over the years has kind of taken away from the magic a little bit for me

I See You by The xx
Oct 29 2025

OHH okay here we go, i loved a couple of songs from their 2009 album! - oh i LOVE her vocals - "Dangerous" and "Say Something Loving" were a different sound than i expected, but then "Lips" played and it was like OH okay this is what i think of when i think of the xx - the vibes of "A Violent Noise" brings me back to my early 20s, really nostalgic - OH that synth line after the chorus on "Replica" my goodness - "Brave For You" is so ethereal, her vocals and guitar on this track is so lovely - "On Hold" ooh like the layering of disjointed vocals - the last track, "Test Me", feels like i am walking through my consciousness all in all, both what i expected and not! and i'm going to be that person, but it was SO nice listen to some non-male vocals after a long stretch of only men. four songs in and i threw this album in my saved list on spotify- will definitely listen to again :)

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Oct 30 2025

- ooh whimsical intro - feels like im a bird flying through a bustling coastal city in the 70s - WHOAH love those keys? that synth line? whatever it is i love it - ooh going into the next track, sequencing the last song as it transitions into the new - is that a horse neighing? - this feels like an alternate version of daft punk's discovery, but if it had a disco-y baby with fat boy slim. i'm LOVING this NO NOTES i'm super biased as i love this kind of poppy, electronic sequencey music. it instantly transports me to a different place and time and is a dopamine machine the whole way through. loved and saved to my library!

Oct 31 2025

no idea what to expect here we gooo - ooh snazzy - brings you to another time, woo - everything was so cool and jazzy up until this point but i gotta admit not a fan of "Free Form Guitar" (so noisy and distorted- which i dont mind, but this sounds like a sound check gone wrong, first time i skipped a song halfway through in this challenge) all in all not really my vibe -
