Hotel California
EaglesAn absolute classic album. The musicianship and vocal harmonies are outstanding.

Big band jazz is not something I would listen to on a regular basis but there is no denying the talent of the musicians and the fantastic orchestration. I don't give it 5 stars only because it's not really my style.
Now we are talking! Great collaborations!! It's so funny to me how you can ALWAYS tell Carlos's playing. I always think of the Frank Zappa song "Variations On The Carlos Santana Secret Chord Progressions" when I hear his playing on someone else's song.
A very good album but I need to pull back on the number of starts so I can reserve the 4 and 5 stars for true standouts. These guys absolutely have a very recognizable sound and catchy tunes but nothing that ever made them a favorite... Unlike my friend Kiok who is a big fan. Still sort of shocking The Stones never called them out on copying Start Me Up for the opening riff of Love Removal Machine. A fun listen for sure but nothing about it blows me away musically or vocally.
RIP Dusty. A great band and a fun, fantastic album. Though I much prefer the more bluesy, gritty earlier albums this one was super polished and well produced. Bonus: Gimme All Your Lovin' was used in The Santa Clause so there's that.
A surprisingly cool album. Seems they were much bigger in the UK than the US and the whole almost lack of backstory of the album title is hilarious as well.
Such a standout swamp stomp sound. Giving it a 4 mainly for the standouts Born on the Bayou, Proud Mary and Penthouse Pauper. I don't think I had listened to Graveyard Train before but it made me realize the similarities between Fogerty and Dan Mcafferty from Nazareth voices.
I'm sure some in the group may or may not be surprised that I have never heard of this band but I was pretty firmly entrenched in Heavy Metal during the time of their releases. Great mix of genres here with parts being a sort of psychedelic electronica but mixed with soul, sometimes a reggae influence and even my least favorite genre Hip Hop... Hate all you want. 🤣
Obviously Coltrane is a legend and I can appreciate the talent but I found the album to be very repetitive and sort of droning on at times. Maybe I'm biased since Jazz Fusion is more my thing than traditional jazz but I'm giving it 3 stars only out of respect for the man.
Meh. Not a fan.
2 discs of "Technope"
Not my thang.
I know I should have enjoyed this more given the roots of rock and roll it encompasses, but I really only enjoyed a handful of the better known tracks...lame I know. I feel like one of "those people" who never actually listens to a full album but only the songs they have already heard. It's cool and do woppy and sometimes like surf music but not really a big fan of the genre overall.
OK, I would gladly have died before having listened to this one. Some of these "must listen to" albums just don't click with me...but I'm sure there is someone out there who loves it.
A solid album with some catchy tunes that I have listened to plenty of times.
An interesting album. The first couple of songs felt like a British new wave band that never managed one of the catchy hits of the genre...then things took a psychedelic turn...then suddenly Elizabeth My Dear that was Scarborough Fair with different lyrics.LOL. Not great but glad I listened.
