1001 Albums Summary

Would’ve given 2.5 but can’t. Not a bad album per se just not for me. Never been a fan of rock n roll, always thought it was very formulaic.

Went in with preconceptions. RHCP are a band I should love, in theory - I love so many of their influences: Gang of Four; James Brown; Iggy Pop/The Stooges. But they are so cringeworthy it hurts sometimes. Anthony Kiedis is a paedo.

3/3.5. Good but I get tired of his voice. Think there are better blaxploitation soundtracks also.

Some very good songs but sometimes a bit boring. Songs in Big Lebowski are favourites.

3.75. Really enjoy it but don’t think it’s quite as good as proclaimed. Wonder just how different it would’ve been had it not been Martin Hannett on production.
