Listened in the truck on the way to the field. While I can understand the significance of this album, and its grandiosity and polish give it an otherworldliness lacking in similar rock albums of the time, the lack of bite is too palpable and makes the high points feel more like foothills than peaks. It feels like it’s trying to match grunge aesthetics but instead comes off melodramatic and out of touch. 2/5
