1001 Albums Summary

Nearly didn’t listen to the first of my 1001 albums, thinking I knew the score already - and then realised that is totally contra to the spirit of the exercise. Glad I engaged and tried hard to think about why it doesn’t resonate for me. Essentially it is incredibly uncool. Cool isn’t everything, of course, and probably it should matter less to me - hence choosing to engage in the 1001 albums. Never less, despite crisp production, super tight drumming and skilled musicianship, this is dreadful. Monotonous, moaning and carping, far far less clever than it believes itself to be. Adolescent bedroom discontent with the world, with none of the energy and drive of adolescence that moves us forward.
