1001 Albums Summary

Very solid album! 3 1/2, really. I just don’t really like Courtney’s vocals for some reason. Maybe I’m just.. biased against Courtney..

I usually dont like the Rolling Stones but WOW this blew me away. I like THESE stones! Im a picky stoner!

This album encapsulates exactly what it’s like to be a flawed, messy human, and the want and desperate search to cling onto something bigger for security and refuge. Actually finding it is a miracle. God bless Mr. Coltrane, this is just amazing.

This album is ingrained in my memory. I spent an unhealthy amount of time studying everything about it. I have become one with The Wall (1979). I AM The Wall (1979).

3.5/5 Amazing instrumentation and writing, but I don’t really dig Joni’s way of singing. It feels a little like she’s just rhythmically reading a poem on top of music while trying to follow a melody; which I’m sure some people like, but for me it’s just an odd mix of like.. half-rapping and half-singing, almost. It’s enjoyable, though I wouldn’t relisten to it. A handful of standouts. Overall not bad
