Machine Head by Deep Purple

Not a huge fan of the vocals but really dig the guitars, especially the melodic solos.

Machine Head by Deep Purple

Not a huge fan of the vocals but really dig the guitars, especially the melodic solos.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Dec 10 2025

I can appreciate the album for what it is. It is definitely a masterpiece. It just isn’t my cup of tea. The White Stripes have always sounded unfinished or incomplete to me, which I know is part of their sound, but to me, it’s always been a bit unsatisfying. Still, there are masterful moments on this album that I do like. It’s just not something I would listen to on my own.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Dec 11 2025

This is a lot more my speed. I’ve loved their song Heaven or Las Vegas for a long time but hadn’t listened to this whole album ever, and I’m wondering now why I never did. I don’t know if Cocteau Twins qualify as “shoegaze” but it gives me all the shoegaze vibes and I love it. It’s something I would (and will) listen to regularly. There are a few tracks on here that I kind of have to hold around the edges because they’re not totally my taste but the album is still great overall.

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Dec 12 2025

I understand the quality of this album but it’s definitely not my thing. Not a fan of Yusuf/Cat Stevens’ voice and I can’t get past it.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Dec 15 2025

This brings me back to high school. I used to listen to this album on repeat. It is as surreal and magical and bizarre and lovely as I remember it.
