Mostly uninteresting or boring, some annoying. Saved Where is My Mind and Cactus - Where is My Mind just sounds good and Cactus is a fun raunchy love song, possibly a future favorite. Comments said Bowie covered it, will have to listen. Might listen to some other songs by this group at some point.
Liked lots of songs on this album, but don't think I'd decide to listen to the album in full again. Enjoyed the jazzy melancholic/longing vibes the whole album gives. Saved Lazarus, Girl Loves Me, Dollar Days, and I Can't Give Everything Away - all are good listening experiences with strong lyrics. I Can't Give Everything Away is particularly powerful and my favorite from the album.
All of these songs are good, but more so as songs I'd have playing in the background than be actively listening to. Saved If You Need Me and You Can't Love Them All. The melody of the lyrics of If You Need Me made the song really stick out to me immediate earworm. You Can't Love Them All is a fun song that made me smile, I can see it releasing today and being received well.
Elevator music about a guy who is really struggling to get laid. The repetitive nature of the songs gets pretty grating, so didn't enjoy this album much. Most of the songs by themselves are alright and I wouldn't mind having to hear them while going up 20 floors, the one exception being Careless Love - made me feel like I was going crazy because there's like 6 lines and he repeats each for an entire verse. God awful. Not saving any of these songs to my playlists.
I'd already listened to a handful of songs on this album before, so went in with bias. Did enjoy the album, but not enough to save any songs. Might listen again anyways though.
This is such a smooth album, every song is so good. I'm looking into buying this on vinyl and will be ripping it to disc so I can listen to the album regularly. None of the songs stood out in particular to me, but certainly none of them were boring.
I like the sound of this album, it's the kind you can have on in the background and vibe to but also tune in occasionally and still enjoy. None of the songs really stood out to me in particular, so won't be saving any, but will be obtaining the album on disc to listen again.
Listened about half way though the album before I getting bored and DNFing it. Americana country isn't a genre I've ever been all that into, and the music and lyrics didn't grab my attention enough to keep my interest. Did a but of reading on Helm and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down to learn the intent behind the song, which did contribute to my disinterest in finishing the album. Not too interested in listening to music made in part by someone who would probably be offended by being told they shouldn't fly the Confederate flag.
I probably wouldn't have known this album was "homemade" if that wasn't the only thing that people talked about. I can understand why that's all people have to say though, there's not really anything special or standout here, at least to me. Was a nice background as I did some chores.
This was a fun album for sure, but the back and forth between instrumentals and spoken word was kind of dizzying. Decca, the short song about boinking on top of a mountain for 10 thousand years in a position called nasty, was a personal favorite. Would have loved to learn more about that. I'll probably try to find this on disc for future listening.
Lots of rich sound in this album, I'll have to listen to it again sometime when I can just sit and enjoy it. I typically don't care much for live recordings, but with soul the audience really elevates the music.
Lovely voice, but not my kind of jam. Couldn't really listen to much without getting agitated.
Solid album. Nothing stood out to me much, but I'll be listening to this album again in the future.
Only listened to a couple songs out of this album before the lackluster music and repetitive lyrics got to me. Maybe I'll try another listen some other time, but I doubt it.
