1001 Albums Summary

I'm not super knowledgeable about jazz or bossa nova, so all I can say about this album right now is that the songs sound nice. The general sound of the album feels very calm and sweet, and sounds like something that would play in a dimly lit coffee shop somewhere. I also don't know Portuguese thoroughly so I'm not quite sure what is being said. But the instrumentation is very good! I like the use of what I think is saxophone in Doralice. Also interesting that this was half made by an American guy. Bring back bossa nova in 2026 I think. 10/10

I can’t believe I got this as my second one… I listened to the entirety of this a week ago. Obviously love it!!!! Favorite songs from this are You’re so Great and Beetlebum. Lowkey depressing lore but I love it anyways, I also wish The Great Escape was on this list too but I get why it's not (also this album is probably just on the list because Song 2 is on it but that's ok) 10/10

I liked this and I don't have a lot to say about it! Classic early 60s sound, all the songs are pretty short which is interesting. His voice is great though 8/10

This album is literally so so good and definitely the first one i’ve gotten so far that will go on my playlist. Holy mug 10/10

I feel like this would be the soundtrack to a really goth remake of Alice in Wonderland. The guitar is actually heavenly 9/10
