Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Dec 19 2025

Day 1 Innervisions: Too High -> Exciting Vocal Pedal Harmonies (Especially on the lyrics too high maybe transcribe???) Really nice chorussy effect on vocals plus big verb really interesting Two harmonica solos at once counterpoint, one in each ear whooaaa plus ear tickling extended overblowing Interesting production lovely compressed and enveloped rhythm section super clean electronic sound 7/10 Visions -> more dynamic and acoustic with double bass? and balladic singing twinkling swarms of trills and rolls in panned guitars and vibesque keyboards. 5/10 Living for the city -> Really cool vocal line with a zesty synth that contrasts the more static pedal point verses sections Upbeat disco vibes Weird oscillator riser ASMR Hand claps WOAH Awesome spoken word dramaturgical sample section thats cool Mercy mercy mercy sorta line Choral bit 6/10 Golden Lady -> Acoustic piano intro which drops into a lush groove Triadic Decending montuno colours dripping Kinda Jobim Really lush compared to other songs with synth runs that arppegiate into loose threads, pads notey bassline 5/10 Higher ground -> Busy textural Clavichordal bliss Afforded relief briefly in the prechorus Awesome synth counterline 7/10 Jesus Children of America -> 3rd chord in the chorus is cool Backup vocals before the actual vocals More juicy clavinet 4/10 All in love is fair -> Piano Ballady Cool synth sounds and runs Emotional 🙁 Wide vib 5/10 Don’t you worry about a thing -> Montuno, spoken word Mighty Latin percussion groove Amazing anticipated descending triads harmonies 8/10 He’s Misstra Know it all -> Bar added at the end of sections, builds anticipation Pretty chords Low high backing vocals Vocal improv at the end cool 4/10 Summary: Lots of different textures from the dramatic soundscapes of Living for the City to the lush threads of golden lady. It’s a bit samey for my taste, including often similar builds. 5/10

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Dec 22 2025

Swirling magical cyclic dreamsoul. 'A mind torn between apocalypse, sex, personal disaster·and reverie'. Favourite track; inner city blues for obvious reasons

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Dec 23 2025

Fela Kuti is right about this album. Bland appropration of afro-soul

Dec 24 2025

Warped, encircling telephone vocals, tiktokfied hooks and brief breaths of air into a lofi alternate world. However at the same time some of the space-psychedelic textures lead to boredom rather than trance. Favorite track, moons birds and oceans (and the handshake)

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Dec 25 2025

Massive orchestral work, offers us glimpses of a perpetual ocean before whipping us back to the minutiae of perfectionism. Stationary, self-harming, psychedelic, Spectorsound ect

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Dec 29 2025

All the Drum machine stuff is good but the song ahh songs idk about Krautrock Mingussian Deep fried electronica Pulk/Pull favorite track

Nevermind by Nirvana
Dec 31 2025

Amazing high pitched crystal world of pick clicks, and fret scrapes endless nameless guitar solo is awesome If only some of the interesting soundy intros were extended then maybe some of Nirvana's notoriously annoying fanbase would be siphoned off.

Highly Evolved by The Vines
Jan 01 2026

Kinda forgettable, songs develop in predictable ways (with a few exceptions), and sounds quite derivative of the beatles/nirvana
