Hot Fuss by The Killers

I don't get anything listening to this album that I don't get from The Stone Roses

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Dec 19 2025

For me, this would be art that I would visit, not art I would live with. The backstory is moving, and I can see how he put his whole heart into the album. 3/5

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Dec 20 2025

A solid album of songs. Simon can hit it out of the park sometimes but a few tracks seemed like filler to me.

Dec 21 2025

My first impression is that this album is on the list because it endures. It's as relevant today as it was in 1988 which is an indictment of our current age. Flav isn't the clown I had been led to believe he was, and Chuck D spends an hour just spitting out truth. The Farrakhan bits are somewhat of a shock. Art lives in the time it was created in, but we can still point how how this didn't age well. Louder than a bomb is incredible as music and a manifesto.

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Dec 22 2025

This is pleasant, competent, and I don’t feel compelled by it. I know it stands at a pivotal point in rock/pop history, but I guess I agree that the songs come across as anodyne because the album won. This is pop, unremarkable almost today, but it hit at exactly the right time.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Dec 23 2025

This album (and Live at Massey Hall) always remind me that Neil is just a simple boy from North Ontario

Low by David Bowie
Dec 24 2025
Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
Dec 25 2025

This album works. The overall sound is David Bowie and the Beach Boys but updated hits. And this album isn't cold so much as distant. I could see it being used as the soundtrack to a modern dance performance.

Phrenology by The Roots
Dec 28 2025

The beats are incredible, the lyrics are phenomenal, just a great album. My first 5* I think.

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Dec 29 2025

Basically it came off as a mid-tier Blur album. Which not bad, but a waste of the talent collected in that band.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Dec 30 2025

I don't get anything listening to this album that I don't get from The Stone Roses

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Dec 31 2025

I already know I won't like this one. 2/5
