1001 Albums Summary

Enjoyed this album. I understand why it is held in such high regard. Nirvana is iconic and this is obviously their best performance.

This is an absolute banger. You have all the hits here that you would expect and then some wonderful additions that I hadn't heard before. Also, ending with Red House is wondeful. My step dad played that song and it will always remind me of him!

It's Prince doing Prince things and if you don't like it you don't have a soul.

The last two songs are the best with Hong Kong Bar being my favorite. Even though this is in my wheelhouse it's not something I would want to listen to again but wasn't bad for a single pass through.

I totally understand why it was made and what they were trying to do. I recognize the similarities between today and when this was made and as another reviewer said; "we have learned nothing in 34 years" and that is 1000% true. I would not listen to this again but recognize why it's on this list. This is slam poetry over music there's not really a lot of musicality here IMO. Youtube music is missing 2 songs from the album.

I have never heard of Doolittle. I hear the inspirations they generated into the 90s. In fact a Nirvana song auto played after this album and you can definitely hear the influence. Overall I enjoyed it. It wasn't mind blowing for me but I could listen to it again without a problem.

The quint essential Metallica album. It's doesn't get better than then even for someone who doesn't listen to metal. Certified bangers.

A BANGER! Everything about this album is fantastic.

This album is really good. I understand why people hate John Lennon he was not a great person but if you hated the music of everyone who wasn't a good person you wouldn't listen to half of music anymore. Obviously this is a very politically charged album but there are some quality songs here. Imagine obviously, crippled inside is another good one, and some others. There were bluesy notes throughout the album that I enjoyed.
