Roadhouse Blues: great energetic start to the album, really sets a tone for what to expect as a first time listener.
Waiting for the sun: chill but you can feel something is coming, the buildup is fun. This albums got kind of a country feel to it. Really enjoyed how amped it makes you.
You Make Me Real: SO FUN! Makes you want to dance around your room and headbang.
Peace Frog: still good, not saving it but it’s also a fun listen. The guitar solo is quirky.
Blue Sunday: oh, okay I can vibe with this one. I like the slow pace, Jim Morrisons voice is way more impactful in this capacity.
Ship of Fools; not as vibey
Overal Vibe: it’s giving dive bar baddie, I gonna walk in and be the baddest bitch for clocking this album. Would I buy it on vinyl? I think so!
This album makes me feel a lot of ways and I’m not so certain I like it. I admire the artistry behind the sound but if this is abstract art, this makes me uncomfy.
At some points I felt this would be good listening music but also if there was ever a lull in conversation it would be hard to ignore.
I liked it… it was not as awe inspiring as I thought I would feel with how much hype the smiths get overall…
Before Listening: 2nd album from the 80’s, also 2nd album I already have a song saved from! High hopes for this one.
During Listening: VERY strong start, William describes them as ahead of their time and I truly understand that for them. It’s energetic, spirited, and a lot of fun.
After Listening: I really enjoyed the spunkiness of the album, I think it will take a couple listens to really enjoy some of the songs enough to save them to my library.

Before Listening: Excited for my first woman! I’ve heard of Fiona Apple, but I don’t think I have any songs saved. I’m hoping for moody and soulful.
During listening: I LOVE HER! She’s the epitome of the 90’s I think of with soft grunge. She could have written the movie thirteen and it would have fit her perfectly. This album is an absolute vibe!! It literally makes me want to listen to her other stuff, I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on Fiona for so long. Fiona would absolutely buss it down in 2025.
After Listening: wow, I have seen the light. I am converted and am never going back. Fiona Apple , you have my heart.

Before listening: great … another jazz album
During listening: like it more than Herbie Hancock, aligns more with my idea of what jazz is. Overall pretty pleasant listening experience.
After listening: it was pleasant and upbeat, felt little like I was waiting for a representative to pick up the phone, not mad at it but won’t be listening to it again anytime soon.

Before listening: first impressions, it’s cutesy, never heard of them though. I like the cover art and the album was released on my birthday (1995) so that’s cool! They toured with the smashing pumpkins so I’m gonna say it’s somewhere in that range?
During Listening: feminine, grunge, rage, my kind of music. It feels very Wet Leg with the beats but with a 90’s sound to it
After listening: I did enjoy this throwback, very of the times. And I always appreciate a female forward lead!

Before listening: Never listened to Jimi Hendrix (this is what’s wrong with my generation) if it’s as psychedelic and chill as the album cover I think I might enjoy it.
During Listening: an interesting intro for a first timer but it’s real groovy when you get going. At some points it sounds a bit “noisy” but you can catch a vibe most of the time.

Before listening: never heard of this one. I see on Spotify this is a lengthy one (consisting of two discs with a run time a minute short of two hours.) not sure if I will make it fully through but I will give the first disc a complete listen before I decide on the second.
During Listening: Sounds far out and spiritually charged. I’m digging the intro but Im not sure if I would want to listen to this a second time. I feel like I’m sitting in one of those overpriced “light show” exhibits watching strobing lights on a 10 minute loop. I could totally see someone catching a vibe… if they were on DMT. But all jokes aside, I do kinda fuck with this album. If I was having an emotional breakdown or an existential crisis, this would be a great grounding album. I feel like every song is edging me like please let’s go somewhere with the amazing lead ups.
Before Listening: Curtis Mayfield sounds familiar, looks pretty funky and soulful. Excited to give it a try.
During Listening: feel like I’m listening to the blueprint. Very palatable and easy going, while also being thematic. I wish Mayfields vocals shined a little more through the sound. Had to give it a second listen because I wanted to hear it more.
After Listening: I get all warm and fuzzy thinking about this listen, I thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s strattling the line of 4.5 to 5 stars. Will absolutely return to this album.

Before Listening: Who hasn’t heard this one? Me, I haven’t. Let’s see what it’s all about.
During Listening: I can see why it’s so beloved and such a piece of Americana history. Feels very hopeful, fun, and energetic.
After Listening: pretty decent, would listen again. Okay, after letting it marinate and leaving it on repeat, I think I get the hype.

Before listening: like the cover art, might have heard of PJ Harvey? Zero expectations for this one.
During: Oh… so it started off kind of okay? And then… it became noise. I cannot stand the lead vocalist. I found a couple of moments of headbanging, but I cringe every time she sings.
After: that album felt endless, glad to be through it.
