1001 Albums Summary

An incredibly diverse sound I wasn’t expecting but is exactly what I needed? I think we need more hour long albums from in this world.

Knowing Turn to Stone and Mr. Blue Sky prior to this full listen through definitely altered how I processed this project (as I find the former excellent and the latter more annoying as the years go on). It is a very eclectic and strange project that has some incredible highs and legendary track runs, but also sadly some points where I feel it drags and delivers what is not ELO’s magnificence and creativity they are so often regarded with.

It’s really solid dad rock, I just have my limits. This is the shortest project I’ve listened to so far and somehow kept my attention the least.

It may be the start of a new year, but brilliance never needs change. Sade is one of my favorite artists of all time, and the refined and well-curated excellence of their work shines so clearly in this debut.

Just so much fun. I definitely need to give it more listens to fully comprehend everything, but as a first listen I just had a great time.

Just pure fun, flair, and talent.

I did not know this was R.E.M.’s sound, I was so blind for so long. Incredible stuff and great for the commute to college with a flannel and baggy jeans on.

A lot happening here, which I found admirable, but this is not good. I felt deeply unsettled majority of the time I was listening to this and feel no context in which it can be applicable to listen to. This all feels very sinister.

Just so much fun. I will admit my only experience of a complete Talking Heads project prior to this is Stop Making Sense, which is stellar, and their sound is just so unique and well crafted.

My first Bjork album! Super fun, her ear for music is just crazy, she has gained a new fan.
